Brian Beiles – President
For over 30 years, Brian has focused his business, consulting and training efforts on helping organizations become more effective in serving their customers, employees and shareholders. His experience has been in a wide variety of industries, where he has also held a number of senior financial and general management positions. Brian is a C.A., holds an M.B.A., and is on faculty with Loyalist College, where he conducts both consulting engagements and in-house management training programs. Brian moved to the County with his wife Sandra Goranson in 2005. Since then, he has served as Vice Chair on the Board of the Arts Council and as a member and Chair of the Jazz Festival Committee. He is very pleased to now be contributing to addressing key areas of need in the County.
Christine Winiarz Searle – Vice-President
Attracted to and inspired by Lake Ontario island lifestyle, Christine Winiarz Searle moved to Prince Edward County in 2014 after over 30 years of experience in the federal public service. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Christine began her career conducting audits and performance evaluations of organizations supported by government grants. Mid-career, she gained valuable experience at Western Economic Diversification Canada developing and delivering programs that financed small businesses, institutes and organizations in rural and Aboriginal communities. At Industry Canada in Ottawa, Christine successfully influenced the evolution of Canadian policy frameworks to control the paperwork burden that faces entrepreneurs and inhibits small business growth. A CPA, CMA, and avid sailor, Christine has held voluntary board positions at Sail Canada, Ontario Sailing and the Nepean Sailing Club, focusing her efforts on improving financial management establishing good governance frameworks. Christine is currently a citizen member of the Prince Edward County Community and Economic Development Commission, Treasurer on the 99.3 County FM Board of Directors and Chair of the By-laws Committee for the Wellington on the Lake Residents Association. Through her consulting practice, WindSea Governance Inc., she continues to help non-profit boards in the sport, recreation and cultural tourism sectors shape appropriate governance frameworks and align resources to realize strategic outcomes. By joining the Foundation Board, Christine looks forward to contributing her expertise to benefit those in need throughout the County.
Linda Conley – Member
From 1996 to 2013 Linda was the Executive Director of Prince Edward Learning Centre. In that role she managed an Adult Basic Literacy agency funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). Part of Linda’s responsibility was to connect with the community of Prince Edward County. Linda sat on a number of committees including the Inter-Services Committee, the Poverty Roundtable, and the original Vital Signs Advisory Committee. Linda developed working relationships with all of the other social service agencies especially Prince Edward Lennox and Addington Social Services and Community Living Prince Edward,
Linda currently serves as the President of the Board of Community Living Prince Edward, A Co-Leader of the After 3 Club at Wellington Pentecostal Church and Secretary for the Church Council for Wellington Pentecostal Church and volunteer at the breakfast club at CML Snider Elementary School.
David MacKay – Member
David arrived in Prince Edward County in 1975 when he began a career as a Teacher at PECI. He went on over the next 30 years to hold a number of roles including: Head of English Department; Coordinator of Adult Education; Vice Principal and Principal at PECI; Principal at Pinecrest Elementary School; and Principal Moira Secondary School (Belleville).
Since retirement David has been involved in a number of local organizations and initiatives including: 99.3 County FM; Save Picton Bay; Standing Ovation and Music on the Mountain. In 2016/17 he was a community member on the ARC (Accommodation Review Committee) for Prince Edward Collegiate.
Debbie MacDonald Moynes – Member
Debbie always knew that working with seniors would be her career and she has been Executive Director of The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association since 1981.
Debbie has served in many sector-related boards and committees -- board of the Ontario Community Support Association; chair of the South East Community Support Network for 20+ years; a Trustee on the board of OASSIS benefit plan. She was an adjunct professor with the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Human Services Management degree program at Loyalist College in Belleville, teaching social policy and politics.
She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Queen’s University and is also a graduate of the Advanced Health Leadership Program at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management.
Debbie is deeply involved in the community and her volunteer work includes Past President of the Rotary Club of Picton (1996-97), Rotary Secretary (2014-2017); Past President of the Quinte Educational Museum & Archives (which raised $50,000.00 to move the 100 year old Victoria Schoolhouse); and she is also Past President of The Regent Theatre Foundation. Debbie has been involved with the CCF Vital Signs initiatives and is pleased to join The County Foundation Board to build upon this work.
Debbie was born and raised in Prince Edward County and lives on Green Point in Prince Edward County with her husband Rick.
Brian Ford – Member & Treasurer
Brian is an accomplished chartered accountant and financial professional with over 30 years of experience serving publicly traded entities as well as privately owned organizations, most recently as CFO of a public life sciences company, Telesta Therapeutics, based in Belleville and Montreal. Prior to that, Brian provided advisory services through EY and on his own through Petersford Consulting, for a wide variety of clients, primarily centered on capital/fund raising and improving revenue leverage from their revenue generating resources.
His results focused leadership and diplomatic touch enable teams to deliver on goals, objectives and strategic initiatives with full accountability and transparency. Brian’s engineered approach to problem solving, and strong analytical and communication skills enable him to connect with and engage stakeholders at all levels, whether in the boardroom, with engineers and scientists or other staff in the field, investor, banker, customer or supplier. With his multi-disciplinary skill set together with core skills in accounting, auditing, and finance, Brian brings a portfolio of experience that provides significant value at the senior management table.
