A New Fund with the County Community Foundation

Picton, Ontario. The County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the first-ever grant(s) from the newly established Community Justice Fund.

The Community Justice Fund is the initiative of the Prince Edward Corrections Advisory Board (PECAB). In closing its doors after more than 30 years of community service, PECAB chose to establish a Fund with the County Community Foundation that would allow the spirit of PECAB to live on.

The Community Justice Fund will provide grants to registered charities in the County offering recreational or educational programs for young people, including programs and initiatives which educate on risky and/or offending behaviour, positively influence both adult and young offenders, and promote community safety. Grants will be given to organizations which deliver these programs to County residents.

A grants committee has been established to guide the Fund and to review applications. The Committee is:

  • Kerry Cole, former PECAB executive director
  • Anthony Mann, Community Services Officer, Prince Edward OPP
  • Robert Quaiff, chair, PEC Police Services Board
  • Maureen Finnegan, member, PEC Police Services Board
  • Bridget Stevenson, PEC resident

Applications can be submitted by email or in writing to info@thecountyfoundation.ca. The deadline is November 14, 2014. Grants will be announced
in January 2015.

The County Community Foundation manages a number of funds which address community needs and donor wishes in Prince Edward County. For more information about the County Community Foundation, the Community Justice Fund, or how to apply, please contact the Foundation:
