The County Level Up! Program

The Level Up! Program was established in 2024 as part of a fund supported by an anonymous donor to to address gaps and needs in the community. In particular, the fund will preference applicants working within the sector with a desire to train and educate for further advancement within the specified fields of healthcare or childcare.  By ‘leveling-up’, the goal of this program is to increase the earning potential of local employees within these sectors by supporting enhanced training and education.

Each year The County Level Up! bursary will be awarded, in the amount of up to $20,000 for a period of 2 years (total scholarship amount of $40,000), to an individual(s) from Prince Edward County seeking to pursue enhanced education within the field of healthcare or childcare (eg. Nursing, PSW, ECEs) for the purpose of working within Prince Edward County.

The bursary to each selected student will be up to $40,000 payable over 2 years (up to $20,000 per year). The bursary will first be directed towards the cost of tuition and books to the post-secondary institution. The remaining amount of the annual award (up to a maximum of $10,000 annually) will support cost of living (rent/mortgage, transportation, child care etc.).

Proof of enrolment and good standing in the student’s program will need to be submitted on a quarterly basis to The County Foundation to receive these monthly instalments. The second year’s bursary payment requires the student to remain in good standing with their chosen program and institution. Change in programs requires approval and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
