theROC Youth Services 'Grade 10 Bright Future Award'

Awards an annual bursary of $1,000 to a Grade 10 student living in Prince Edward County who has demonstrated growth and progress toward personal success through overcoming barriers. 

theROC Youth Services has partnered with The County Foundation to offer 'theROC Grade 10 Bright Future Award' bursary. 

theROC created this bursary to support high school students, with the aim of increasing the chances of PEC youth graduating from high school and enrolling in trades programs, apprenticeships, or post-secondary school. 

The 'Bright Future Award’ will be awarded to Grade 10 students and held for up to 3 years following their graduation from secondary school. 


The 2025 recipient of the 'Grade 10 Bright Future Award’ will receive:

  • $1,000 for tuition that will be held in held in trust up to 3 years following graduation from secondary school.
  • A personal laptop gifted by CGI, a Canadian company that provides global IT and business consulting services. 

    How to Apply

    Applications can be self-applied or by nomination. Applications are to be submitted to The County Foundation, who will forward the applications to theRoc Youth Services for their review.


    Applications should include the following component pieces:

    1. A Completed application form (available below).
    2. A Personal Essay (less than 500 words) OR Video (max. 3 min). 
      Upload a brief essay OR min video telling us about yourself/the applicant, what you/they have overcome to complete Grade 10, an
      d how this bursary will help support your/their post-high school goals.

    The deadline for applications is April 27th each year.

    Send an Interac e-Transfers to info@thecountyfoundation.ca. Please indicate that you are contributing to theROC Youth Services Bursary in the notes section.

    Write a cheque payable to “The County Foundation,” with 'theROC Youth Services Bursary' in the memo. Cheques can be mailed to 35 Bridge St. Suite 107, PO Box 24, Picton, ON, K0K 2T0.
