2023 Huff Family Fund Grant Recipients

The County Foundation is pleased to announce the 2023 grant recipients of The Huff Family Fund on January 24th, 2024 at Huff Estates Winery. In total, $250,000 was awarded to 20 local organizations to complete projects or provide services that will benefit Prince Edward County and we look forward to seeing their positive impact in the community.

The Huff Family Fund was established in 2017 and officially launched in 2018 and is managed by The County Foundation. It supports a variety of sectors within the County including: addiction and mental health, animal welfare, arts and culture, healthcare and human services, housing issues and Vital Signs priority areas (Education & Learning, Food Security, and Transportation).

2023 Recipients

Al Purdy A-Frame Association. Upgrades to the former Ameliasburgh home of Al Purdy.
Alternatives for Women. Replacing security system for transitional housing.
Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward. Community social programming for local residents living with memory loss and their partners in care.
Baxter Arts Centre. Subsidizing cost of multiple arts programs so they remain affordable for participants.
The Children’s Foundation. PEC Angel Tree Volunteer Committee.
The County Food Hub. Free and accessible culinary classes for children grades 4 to 8 and grades 9 to 12.
County Kids Read. Books for youth focused on building reading skills and positive mental health.
County Museums. Quaker display at the Wellington Heritage Museum.
County of Prince Edward Public Library & Archives. Refrigerator and dishwasher to support community pantry & after school snacks.
County Stage Company. 2024 Artistic Season & Outreach Programs.
Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation. Food for Learning Program.
Heal with Horses Therapeutic Centre. Small animal therapy program visiting seniors in nursing homes.
HUB Child & Family Centre. New outdoor shed for public access to food pantry.
MADD Canada. 2023-2024 School Program.
PEC Arts Council. Art Together: Free weekly drop-in facilitated art-making studio led by professionals.
Prince Edward Learning Centre. Initiative focused on deeply affordable housing and financial empowerment program.
Quintissimo. Free music education at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute for youth aged 6-10.
Reaching for Rainbows. Healthy snack program for young girls.
ROC Youth Services. Mental Well-being Project offered in 3 sessions each year for intermediate youth throughout PEC.
Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival. Live Comedy Series in PEC (Comedy Country) including performances and workshops.
