Announcing MacPherson Fund Recipients

The County Foundation was pleased to get together in Benson Park in Picton to celebrate the recipients of the Douglas & Kathy MacPherson Fund. Each of the recipients listed below will receive an annual grant from the Fund for a period of 10 years in support of furthering their services and offerings to the community.

The recipient organizations include:

  • Community Living Prince
  • Alternatives for Women
  • Wellington Storehouse
  • Loyalist Humane Society

Each of these organizations were named as beneficiaries within the Will of the late Douglas MacPherson and will now receive ongoing support for their work for many years thanks to this legacy gift.

"The County Foundation is honoured to be carrying out the wishes of Doug and Kathy MacPherson with these bequests. Their generosity reflects their commitment to strengthening the fabric of Prince Edward County. These gifts will create lasting impact, empowering these four local organizations to make a difference in our community for years to come. We are privileged to work with individuals and families who, like the MacPhersons, wish to leave a legacy that enriches the County's future." - Dominique Jones, Executive Director of The County Foundation

In addition to the above recipients, the Douglas & Kathy MacPherson Estate generously supports:

  • The Macpherson Award: Annual bursary of $2,000 for 3 County residents ($6,000 total) studying in the fields of Arts & Science, Skilled Trades, or Agriculture.

  • Vital Impact Fund: The signature fund of The County Foundation which uses Vital Signs data to inform decision-making, identify gaps in community need, and direct support where resources can have the greatest impact
