Imagine your entire family has been forced into hiding.
Imagine being threatened at gun point for being
a teacher, an engineer – a woman.
The H.s were living a life they were proud of and thankful for.
But last summer, all that changed. The Taliban took control of Afghanistan. The family’s voices have been silenced; they are no longer able to support Afghan women through their activism. Instead, they have been forced from their home and live in fear for their lives.
The family hope to come to Canada where they will reunite with their aunt. As R. says “I promise we will do our best to contribute to Canadian society. All of us are well-educated people with so much to offer. But we need your help.”
You Can Help
We are the Afghan Family Support Group, a group of women who are committed to sponsoring this family to settle in Canada. In order to do that we need to raise $90,000 for government required settlement funds. Therefore we have set up the Afghan Refugee Sponsorship Fund with The County Foundation.

- If sending a cheque, please make it out to The County Foundation with Afghan Family Sponsorship Fund on the memo line. Please mail it to the County Foundation.
