The County Foundation provides grants and scholarships across Prince Edward County, addressing a wide array of interests and needs in our community that generous individuals and families are passionate about supporting. By supporting sectors ranging from healthcare and education to the arts and social services and more, this funding not only enriches our community but also empowers organizations and individuals.

Vital Impact Fund
Alternatives for Women | Supporting execution of a new 12-week program to educate fathers who are at risk of causing harm to their children and their mothers. |
County Kids Read | Implementing capacity-building initiatives, including partnership program enhancements, event program enhancements, and enhancement of evaluation frameworks. |

- 851 Squadron Royal Canadian Cadets Sponsoring Committee $6,073 to support costs related to programs that foster leadership, citizenship and life skills helping County youth reach their highest potential.
- 99.3 County FM. $4,000 to support the community radio station in a project to create a more robust music production library.
- Alternatives for Women. $4,500 to support an enhanced safety and well-being program for staff and clients involved in housing, counselling and education related to domestic violence. Multi-year funding for 2025 and 2026.
- Alzheimer's Society of Hastings-Prince Edward. $5,000 to support ongoing costs related to providing programs and services for persons living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
- Community Development Council of Quinte. $5,000 to support the organization's Good Baby Box program which helps families access nutritious foods.
Multi-year support for 2025 and 2026. - County Food Hub. $8,000 to support a cooking club for children and youth in grades 4-12 at the County Food Hub in Sophiasburgh.
- County Kids Read. $7,000 to support the Book Buddies one-on-one literacy tutoring program at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute.
- Food to Share. $10,000 support ongoing costs related to collecting locally grown produce, preparing and cooking meals that can be distributed through food banks and other community partners.
- Gathering of Friends. $150 to support expenses related to historical re-enactments of Loyalist lifestyle at the Ameliasburgh Heritage Village.
- Greater Than County Youth Collective. $10,000 to support costs related to youth representing, supporting and advocating for their needs in Prince Edward County, including events and hackathons.
- Grow With Me Programs. $3,000 to expand a program for children focused on gardening, environmental stewardship and sustainable living.
- Heal with Horses Therapeutic Centre. $5,000 support costs related to providing horse and small animal-related activities and programs that promote good physical and mental health and wellness.
- Jasper Park Volunteers Group. $868 support for operational expenses related to community gardening at Jasper Parkette in Picton.
- PEC Lions Club. $4,500 to support the PEC Lions Club Music in the Park program in Wellington. Multi-year funding for 2025 and 2026.
- PEC Skating Club. $2,500 to support costs related to providing learn to skate programming in Prince Edward County.
- PEC Sports Hall of Fame. $1,000 to support the 2025 induction ceremony for PEC Sports Hall of Fame nominees at the Wellington and District Community Centre.
- Picton Town Hall Farmers' Market. $5,000 to support costs related to offering a weekly farmers' market on Sundays in Picton

- Prince Edward 4-H Dairy Club. $600 to support the 4-H Club participation in the 2025 Picton Fair.
- Prince Edward Learning Centre (PEC Fresh). $8,000 to support the PEC Fresh Good Food Market, a community market making fresh fruits and vegetables accessible for everyone at affordable prices.
- Prince Edward Pickleball. $2,500 to support costs associated with pickleball programming in Prince Edward County.
- Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory. $5,000 to support costs related to protecting birds and their habitats through research, advocacy and education.
- Reaching for Rainbows. $10,000 to support costs related to providing programming to support vulnerable and at-risk girls age 6-9.
- South Shore Joint Initiative (SSJI). $4,000 to support the Wild Thing outdoor and natural heritage outdoor education program.
- The Andrew. $3,000 to support the Solo Seniors Initiative to address the apprehensions, hopes and aspirations of seniors over 65 who live alone in Prince Edward County.
- The Children's Foundation. $7,500 to support the Playing for Keeps and Camps of Hope programs to subsidize sports and camp programs and removing barriers to participation.
- Volunteer Information Hastings Prince Edward County. $4,000 to support a volunteer recruitment and referral program in Prince Edward County. Multi-year funding for 2025 and 2026.
- Wellington Community Association. $3,000 to support a Remembrance Day initiative in the village of Wellington
- Wellington Community Gardens. $1,000 to support costs related to maintaining community gardens in the village of Wellington.
- West Lake Community Association. $4,525 to support a wetland protection initiative in West Lake.

- Department of Illumination. Up to $2,000 to support use of the Crystal Palace for the 13th annual Firelight Lantern Festival
- Gather in the County. Up to $1,856.30 to support use of the Crystal Palace for the annual Gather in the County modern textile market and showcase.
- Hospice Prince Edward. Up to $2,000 to support venue rental costs related to a fundraising dance to support hospice care in Prince Edward County.
- Jasper Park Volunteer Group. Up to $2,000 to provide for municipal labour and materials to support the community gardening initiative at Jasper Parkette.
- Miss Supertest Facebook Community Fan Page. Up to $254.25 to provide for the municipal costs associated with hanging the Miss Supertest commemorative banner across Picton Main Street.
- PEC Skating Club. Up to $2,000 to support ice rental fees at Wellington and Picton arenas to make learn-to-skate programs more accessible.
- Alchemy Artists Residency – Field Notes: Community Art Workshops. $5,000.

- Baxter Arts Centre – 7 arts-related programs that aim to benefit the local community by offering free, accessible programming. $7,347.
- The Children’s Foundation – Playing for Keeps (Cover the registration fees of sports and other activities) and Camps of Hope (Subsidizes the registration fees for camps) for families in PEC. $7,500.
- Community Development Council of Quinte – Good Baby Box Program: Participants can purchase diapers, wipes, and infant formula at a “much lower than retail” cost. $7,500.
- County Food Hub – Cooking Club is a 5-week culinary course in PEC held at County Food Hub that provides no-cost, universally accessible, cooking classes. $10,642.
- County Stage Company – 2024 Artistic Season: Theatre, comedy, and music performances, alongside complementary community outreach events. $5,000.
- Department of Illumination – Annual Firelight Lantern Festival. $3,000.
- Food to Share – Covers kitchen rental costs to prepare and distribute meals to other local partners. $10,441.
- Friends of Sandbanks Park – Planting of a variety of native trees, shrubs and other plants in the area cleared of invasive Buckthorn. $5,189.52.
- Greater Than Youth Collective & Prince Edward Learning Centre – Activities for youth engagement including: 4 Hackathons, co-launching a cooking series at the County Food Hub, and collaborating on a Youth Mental Health Summit. $16,848.48.
- Quintissimo – Free, after school, instrumental music program to reach 40 under-served youth ages 6-11 at PECI. $7,700.
- South Shore Joint Initiative – Wild Thing: outdoor and educational opportunities for youth around environmental topics. $12,744.
- St. Andrew’s Anglican Wellington – Refurbishment and upgrade of the church hall to improve community programming. $10,000.
- The Hub @ 31 King (St. Andrew’s Presbyterian) – Hosting open sessions for seniors on a variety of topics related to aging as well as beginning a task force related to home-sharing. $9,236.
- Volunteer Information HPE – Program assists with recruitment, referral, retention and recognition for volunteers. $6,000.

The Baxter Arts Centre exists to create a wide range of arts and education programming, maintain the Don Baxter Memorial Building and local history, and share their well-designed space to inspire and promote community events in the heart of Bloomfield, Ontario. Funding will support an initiative to increase the organization’s visibility in the region, which includes increased newsletter and social media outreach, as well as plans to increase connections with low-income families.
- County Stage Company - Awarded $8,036 in 2025
County Stage Company is a dynamic, growing performing arts company located in Prince Edward County. Their work is rooted in the fabric of the community, inspiring creativity, gathering and pride of place. Funding will provide operational support to help County Stage deliver its ambitious and diverse 2025 season.
- Music at Port Milford (MPM) - Awarded $4,000 in 2025 & $4,000 in 2026
Music at Port Milford offers a residential chamber music academy for students ages 10-19, a choral day camp program for local elementary students, a world-class concert series, and free live music events in Prince Edward County. Funding will provide operational support to increase the sustainability of MPM’s programs and operations.
- Prince Edward County Arts Council - Awarded $10,000 in 2025 & $10,000 in 2026
County Arts, formally incorporated as the Prince Edward County Arts Council in 1986, was initially formed in 1979 when members of the community got together to form a group dedicated to promoting the arts in Prince Edward County. Funding will provide operational support to allow County Arts to continue operating as the community’s only arts service organization.
- Prince Edward County Jazz Festival - Awarded $4,000 in 2025
- Quintissimo - Awarded $5,000 in 2025 & $5,000 in 2026
Quintissimo is an El-Sistema based free after school music program. Their mission is to empower children to reach their full potential by using music education to inspire positive social change. Funding will provide operational support, allowing Quintissimo to increase overall capacity over the next two school years by hiring two additional music instructors, establishing a ukulele program, and welcoming at least 20 new students.

The Department of Illumination aims to bring joy and creativity to our community by producing festivals, workshops, and other artistic events. They strive to be a cultural leader, demonstrating excellence and innovation in rural arts. Funding will provide operational support allowing the organization to continue providing its signature programs, as well as launching the new Art on Wheels program in 2026.
- Regent Theatre - Awarded $10,000 in 2025 & $10,000 in 2026
The Regent Theatre is a heritage designated Prince Edward County landmark that is one of the anchors of Main Street Picton. Built in 1918, the theatre brings year-round entertainment to the County. Funding will provide general operational support to help achieve The Regent’s goal to expand the number of visitors to the theatre by 25% in 2025, representing an increase of more than 5,500 additional guests. This grant will help to cover the corresponding increase in general operating costs and marketing costs.

Municipal Financial Relief Grants
In 2025, over 500 households in Prince Edward County received a Municipal Financial Relief Grant toward relief on property taxes or water/wastewater bills for their primary residence. These grants assist low-income households in the County.
Huff Family Fund Grants
- Alzheimer Society Hastings - Prince Edward. Community social programming for local residents living with memory loss and their partners in care
- Baxter Arts Centre. Installation of an electronic accessible doorway and developing intergenerational arts programming.
- Canadian Cancer Society. Reimburses local volunteer drivers who assist people traveling to cancer-related appointments.
- The Children's Foundation. PEC Angel Tree – Updating to new online system for efficiency + materials for volunteers (boxes/bags/etc).
- County Food Hub. 5-week culinary course in PEC held at County Food Hub (CFH) that provides no-cost, universally accessible, cooking classes.
- County Kids Read. Distribute 1800 books (600 per year) focused on enhancing literacy and STEM learning opportunities.
- County Museums. Traveling exhibit consisting of 41 framed neck-pieces created as a celebration and tribute to 41 Canadian women, past and present.
- County Stage Company. 10-week repertory theatre ensemble that will rehearse and perform locally.
- Department of Illumination. Artist residency in Delhi offering drop-in workshops. Includes collaborative art-making, expressive dance events, lectures and guided walks centred on the park.
- Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation. Food for Learning Program - Provide nutritious meals to students.
- The HUB Child & Family Centre. Prepare long term rental to open 49 childcare spaces to address waitlist of over 400 children.
- Ontario Farmland Trust. Community engagement project focused on educating key individuals on ways to protect farmland and the key relationship between farmland protection, farmland access for the next generation, and long term, community food security.
- Picton United Church Food Bank. Remediate tile flooring and build storage shelves.
- Prince Edward Public Library & Archives. Annual series of author talks in June, tied to Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27, and Pride Month in June
- Reaching for Rainbows. Sensory Space: Purchase privacy screens, comfortable furniture and noise cancelling headphones among other items to help formalize the calming space.
- The Regent Theatre. Christmas show ("William Shakespeare’s A Christmas Carol"). Funding to assist with creation of puppets and ticket subsidy for production.
- Al Purdy A-Frame Association. Upgrades to the former Ameliasburgh home of Al Purdy.
- Alternatives for Women. Replacing security system for transitional housing.
- Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward. Community social programming for local residents living with memory loss and their partners in care.

In 2024, The County Foundation provided $75k toward aspiring students education goals through our Scholarships & Bursaries. Thank you to the families and individuals that have created awards that support our local students.
Built Heritage Fund
Donor Advised Grants
In 2024, The County Foundation disbursed 1.5 million in donor-advised grants. Donor-advised grants are a way of giving where donors contribute to a donor-advised fund (DAF) managed by The County Foundation. This system offers donors flexibility in managing their giving, allows them to spread out donations over time, and provides administrative support, while still letting them direct their charitable impact with sometimes guidance from our staff.
