The Huff Family Fund was established in 2017 and officially launched in 2018 and is managed by The County Foundation. The Huff Fund supports a broad range of organizations benefiting Prince Edward County including addiction and mental health, animal welfare, arts and culture, healthcare and human services, housing issues and Vital Signs priority areas. Thank you to Lanny and Catharine for their ongoing commitment to supporting Prince Edward County.

“The Huff Family Fund continues to have a profound impact across various sectors, and empowering organizations. We are fortunate in Prince Edward County to have donors like the Huff Family that see the value in a broad cross sector granting program, the impact of these programs and services touch so many lives. The option for multi-year funding through the Huff Family Fund is especially valuable, allowing for more sustained and impactful programming that strengthens our community.” - Dominique Jones, Executive Director, The County Foundation

Quotes from Recipients

"We are so thankful to the Huff Family Fund and The County Foundation team for recognizing the immense value of recurring annual funding for local nonprofits. Our first ever multi-year grant will enable us to distribute nearly 2000 STEM-themed fiction and non-fiction books over 3 years, inspired by research demonstrating that children's books can play a key role in enhancing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning experiences and outcomes. Thanks to this multi-year funding opportunity, we can help Prince Edward County children acquire the literacy and STEM skills they need to tackle and thrive through the challenges of our increasingly complex world - in 2025 and for years to come." - Anne Preston, Founder and Board Chair, County Kids Read

“Art is a powerful connector, especially during the holiday season. Thanks to the Huff Family Fund we are presenting a staged reading of William Shakespeare’s Christmas Carol with puppets on December 7th at 7PM. This partnership between the Regent Theatre & Driftwood Theatre with the Department of Illumination is a wonderful example of what’s possible when organizations collaborate to build community. With the support of the Huff Family Fund we are thrilled to be able to also offer a limited selection of complimentary tickets, through our partnerships with local schools, and organizations including 99.3 County FM, to families for whom the price of admission would be a barrier. Join us for a homegrown holiday tradition.” Alexandra Seay, Artistic Director, The Regent Theatre.

Thank you to each of the 16 organizations that have been supported through the Huff Family Fund this year. Your dedication to this community is very much appreciated and contributes to making Prince Edward County a place where all can belong and thrive.
